FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and her husband Andrew Grimes have announced the birth of their son.
Crawford “Ford” Case Grimes arrived Wednesday at 8:17 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
Andrew said both is wife and son are doing well.
“Andrew and I have prayed for and dreamed of this day for many years,” Alison said in a statement. “We are overjoyed to welcome Ford into our lives. We cannot thank enough our amazing team of doctors and nurses over these past several years. We are grateful to everyone who has offered their constant support and encouragement as it has meant more than you know.”
Grimes becomes the second of Kentucky’s statewide elected officials to give birth in 2018.
State Treasurer Allison Joy Ball and her husband, Asa James Sawn, announced the birth of their first child, Levi Adrian Swan in July.
